Donors and Sponsors

The organisation would like to acknowledge the following donors and sponsors who continuously fund the operations and the projects for the organisation.

Local Donors

Department of Social Welfare
The Department has provided a total of $6900.00 to the organisation to carry out the following activities

  • Skills Training Workshops
  • General Community Awareness
  • Transportation and Counseling
  • Leather Craft Project – Making Belts

Vodafone ATH Fiji Foundation
The year 2009 was a successful year for the FDPA Youth Group when they received a total of about $50,000.00 to fund for youth activities for 2009 and 2010.

 

Overseas Development Partners

Australia Pacific Disability Support (APIDS)
This support group consists of expatriates/volunteers who have served in the development of Disabled Peoples Organization (DPO) in the Pacific Islands.

In 2009 alone $1655.40 was given for operational costs of the organization.

In 2010 the organisation has received a total of about $3393.03 towards operation costs, skills and leadership training for the Women and Youth Groups

New Zealand Aid/Pacific Disability Forum DPO Funding
The organisation has received $10,000.00 for the development or building the capacity of the national Disabled People’s organization. It has been used for leadership training for the affiliates.

Australian Aid (AUSAID)/Pacific Disability Forum Initiative Capacity Development for Pacific DPO’s.
This funding is also for building the capacity of DPO’s. FDPA has received $25,400.00 for the whole year 2010 on the on the following.

  • Employment of a project officer
  • Installment of website for the organisation and Suva based affiliates
  • Laptop Computer
  • A Desktop Computer
  • MYOB software parcels for FDPA
  • Other Operational Costs.

National Initiave on Civic Education (NICE)
The above funding is education on democracy for the disability community in Fiji. In 2009, the organization received $22,900.00

Disability Rights Funding (DRF)
The organisation has just received its second round for funding for this year. This funding mainly focuses on education and empowerment using the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD).

In 2010, the organisation has received a total of $55,000.00 and for 2011 it has received $36,925.00 to carry out this activity.
